LCAR is an advocate at all levels of government on behalf of consumers and REALTORS®. Through strategic engagement with legislators and active participation in public policy, LCAR advocates for:
The Government Affairs Committee promotes awareness of legislative issues, maintains contact with legislative and government agencies, develops and guides the Association's legislative and regulatory education activities, formulates, and recommends policies, programs, and positions in response to issues which affect the Real Estate Industry or the Association, and coordinates, with other associations, responses to legislative or regulatory matters of common interest.
Members of the LCAR Government Affairs Committee also serve on one of the following subcommittees: Regulatory Reform, Legislative Tracking, Lancaster City, and Municipal Relations. These subcommittees are designed to help the association better navigate legislative and regulatory issues, build stronger relationships with local officials, and keep members informed on important decisions that could impact our industry and the Lancaster community.
