The Appraisers' Council of the Lancaster County Association of REALTORS® was established to foster education, information exchange, cooperation, and friendly interaction among individuals involved in appraising land and buildings within Lancaster County. This nurtures a community of appraisers, enabling the exchange of insights, discoveries, and innovations that continually enrich the field. The council serves as a hub for learning, sharing knowledge, and collaboration, enhancing appraisers' expertise while fostering a strong sense of community with Lancaster's real estate industry.
In 1981, a group of 25 industry specialists from the Greater Lancaster Board of REALTORS® came together to encourage interaction in the commercial and industrial real estate markets; to act as a liaison with the Board, MLS and Lancaster Chamber; and to review legislation. The original goals of uniting Realtors and encouraging education, integrity and networking still apply today.
Through monthly membership meetings, Council members are able to foster a working environment of mutual cooperation and to share important industry information. The C&I Council maintains its close working relationship and ties with the Lancaster County Association of REALTORS®.
The Council has grown to over 150 REALTORS® and affiliate members. Every four years, the Lancaster C&I Council is the host for a Regional Conference, and each December members support the Toys-For-Tots program through their generous donations.
Since its inception in 1917, the Lancaster County Association of Realtors (LCAR) has been deeply involved in providing buyers and sellers with knowledgeable, ethical and competent agents.
